Specsavers in Santa Ponsa is participating in the food bank collection, so if you are popping in for an eye test or to get your glasses repaired, or you are just passing, take them in something non perishable, they are particularly also looking for things for babies and children, nappies, milk and baby food which is heartbreaking really. So please make sure you keep them in mind if you are in the Santa Ponsa area.

Arta Christmas Market on December 14th from 4pm to 8pm with hand made gifts

14th and 15th December starting at 10h30. The village of Alaró Christmas market on the square is my favourite, although it is often REALLY cold when you go up there so be warned. Apparently, there will be more than 50 stalls set up selling crafts, clothes, and there will be live music and entertainment.

Countryside Christmas Market Costitx is a newcomer to the Christmas Market scene, this holiday fair hosted by Spoon Full O’ Moon will be an environmentally conscious afternoon featuring plant-based treats, clothing, jewellery, art, essential oils, cards and organic wine all set up along a charming “Fairy tale Trail”. The Puerto Portals Christmas fair has become popular in recent years. It’s got to be said the offerings tend to be a bit more “upmarket” than some of the other fairs, but it’s a nice place to wander around and enjoy a mulled wine. The market runs from 20th December to 6th January.

Port Adriano will be more of a fun place to go to for children as there will be food trucks and an ice skating rink set up as well as giant slides and attractions for the kids. Market days are from 22nd December to 7th January.

There is also a really cute idea “Breakfast with Santa” at the London Arms in Magaluf every Thursday to Sunday from now until Christmas! 10am to 11.30am you can do arts and crafts, write a letter to Santa and deliver it to him personally, have your photo taken with him and also the kids get a present to go away with. Then if you need to get rid of your little darlings for a couple of days of peace and quiet or you want to give them the gift of an experience rather than a thing that will hold their attention for ten minutes then consider sending them to a pony camp for a couple of days!

June in Mallorca, events

TUESDAY 4TH JUNE is a special day for Cocos Deli in Portals. Not only will they turn 3, but they are dedicating this day to mental health awareness, something which has deeply touched their hearts recently after the sudden loss of a man very dear to Coco the owner. The cafe will be supporting mind.org and 100% of all profits made on the day will be donated to them. They want to bring together the whole Island community to spread more light and awareness on this topic. There is simply not enough help and awareness around, with suicide being the highest killer of white males under 35 in Europe. This has to change. Coco and the staff want everyone to know that “We ALL have our own battles and it’s okay to talk and feel vulnerable. We are all humans, all connected, and no matter who we are, or what we do, we all deserve that love and support.” So please go along and support them today.
